Philip Devereux

My journey into photography began, like so many other enthusiasts, when my father introduced me to his ancient ‘Box Brownie’ camera. I was captivated by his ‘snap shots’ of Bedouin men, women and locations captured during his time in North Africa in the mid 1940’s.

Later, when in my late teens, I purchased my first camera (a 2nd hand Yashica FX2000) and, as the story often goes, ‘I never looked back’. I was primarily interested in land and seascapes, which in turn led to flora and fauna photography and eventually into the domain of having my own studio photography where I enjoy studio portraiture.
