Abstract photography can be said to be a means of showing a visual image that does not have an immediate association with the object world. Nearly all subject matter can be explored to deliver an abstract image. The photographer’s eye plays a large part in abstract photography. The photographer looks to capture something in a way that it would not usually be seen.
Abstract images can reveal for example: details, lines, patterns, shapes, form, texture and colours. Some opportunities for abstract images to name a few: light painting, shadows, reflections, architecture, peeling paint, interesting patterns, blurry trees, close-up patterns in nature.
